Daniella Martinez, Supervised by Dawn-Petrice Youngs, LPC-S

Practicum Student Therapist

I am a Masters-level student currently undergoing clinical training to become a licensed professional mental health counselor. As a counselor-in-training, I strive to create a trusting, collaborative environment with my clients where they feel safe to explore their inner world and process difficult circumstances.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Rice University in Houston, and I have lived in the Houston area for the past ten years. After graduating, I spent several years teaching middle school science to seventh and eighth graders in the Spring Branch area of Houston. My experience in the classroom quickly taught me the power of trauma-informed work and early intervention, particularly for children and adolescents experiencing adverse life events. In my future work, I hope to help youth experiencing challenging life events better understand themselves and their situation in a way that promotes their sense of autonomy, empowerment, and wellness. My current education has prepared me to counsel adults, adolescents, and children experiencing a variety of life challenges. I will continue to receive close supervision, collaboration, and consultation to provide you with the best care possible.
